Tell us about your wedding
We got married at Tonnara Di Scopello in Sicily. Michael’s family is Italian, and some of our favourite memories together have been spent around a big table, surrounded by friends and family, enjoying recipes passed down from Nonna. There’s always lots of laughter, hand gestures, and plenty of wine — a lively atmosphere, full of life. We really wanted to emulate this feeling on our big day, so Italy just felt right.
From the very beginning, we knew we wanted to have an stress-free lead-up to the wedding. We wanted to be able to look back and think ‘that was fun’. If you have good food, great music, and your loved ones by your side, nothing else really matters. Those are the ingredients to make the day unforgettable.
How did you choose your wedding dress?
I knew I always wanted an elegant and classic design but I never had a clear vision of exactly what I wanted, nothing I tried on truly excited me — they were all "close, but not quite right." So, I decided to have my dress made.
We looked at different designs and parts of dresses and pulled it all together into one. The ceremony dress was a classic style with a touch of drama thanks to the Cathedral Blusher Veil.
For the reception, I wanted something fun and flirty, so we created a second dress that I could dance the night away in — complete with a short veil and gloves.
What did you love most about your look?
I loved all elements! But I must say the party dress with the gloves and short veil really topped it off.
Wearing such a fun look with a simple bun and my grandmothers pearls felt very me, which was so important, and I felt I could really achieve this by working with Olivia to make my dresses.
